Red Carpet Looks: 2011 Met Gala

Forget the Oscars or Grammys, the ultimate red carpet eye candy can always be found at the annual Costume Institute Gala held at the famed Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. Titled "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty", this year the fete honored the late great designer who committed suicide early last year.

Check out some of LLT's favorite arrivals below:

1. Twilight star Ashley Greene looked like a siren in a Donna Karen gown.

2. Gossip Girl star and Chanel spokeswoman Blake Lively posed with Karl Lagerfeld in what else but a stunning Chanel gown. Great look however we wish she would've given those California wind swept locks a break in favor of something more sleek.

3. Power couple Carmello Anthony and LaLa looked like royalty in an well fitted suit and princess gown. I swear ever since these two made it official they have been looking fantastic!

4. R&B songstress Ciara channeled her inner diva in a soft gown that packed in some sparkle. We give the overall look a B since the wavy dark locks and hefty cuffs weigh the look down. A romantic bun and some diamond bangles would have been a prettier choice.

5. Cuties Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr (wearing Marchesa) reminded us of a senior prom king and queen. Miranda's look was bit a daring but we ultimately gave her a pass; she isn't used to wearing that much clothing anyway. ;)

6. Hollywood stars Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger (in Jason Wu) made quite the pair that night. While we're not complete fans of the white piping on Josh's suit, we are huge fans of the daring slit Diane brought out in full force. #rawr

7. Adorable child star Elle Fanning looked precious in Valentino. She's clearly taking hints from her big sis Dakota who also donned a Valentino look for the night.

8. Pop phenom Rihanna brought the drama with a heavy lace look by Stella McCartney. We're a bit on the fence with the look but one thing's for sure, that drab over-dyed braid has to go!

9. The always sexy Selma Hayek was one of the handful of people who arrived in one of the honoree's, Alexander McQueen, creations.

10. Resident actress by way of nepotism, Rumer Willis, posed in a dramatic Badgley Mischka gown. We feel like the fit wasn't quite right on her but thumbs up to the dress on it own!

11. Country crooner Taylor Swift switched it up with lace embellished look by J Mendel. While it didn't receive rave reviews from the critics, we applaud Swift, who has rocked the same hairstyle since she debuted, for trying something new. And A+ for the romantic hair and dramatic makeup.

Lord GaGa Does it Again: Judas Music Video Premiere

In true dramatic fashion the music video for Judas, Lady GaGa's second single off her Born This Way album, was released yesterday to thunderous cheers and a lot of head scratching. What was supposed to be an E! exclusive, the video leaked mid-day on the internet spreading so quickly that the GaGa camp eventually gave up and posted the video on the artist's own Vevo site.

The video kicks off some wide angle shots of your atypical biker gang cruising the highway except this one is fronted by a badass (and handsome) Jesus-esque character with Lady GaGa herself cozying up to him on the back seat. With a couple of significant glances towards the rebellious Judas, who's bringing up the rear of the pack, it's clear within the first minute that GaGa is playing the torn between two lovers game. The video continues on to explore a dance scene in a parking lot, a dance scene in a bar, a dance scene in an alley, a foot washing scene, a vicious baptism in what appears to be Grand Rapids, a brief moment showcasing the Kiss of Death, and an old fashion stoning scene. While there's enough imagery and symbolism to make the most dedicated of pop culture interpreters scratch there heads, we won't be getting into any of that here. Somehow I feel like dissecting this video won't look too good on my report card come judgment day. I mean some stories just aren't meant to be retold with a new "vision".

Plus, I'm thoroughly convinced that Lady GaGa videos are one of those things that could mean so many things that they actually mean nothing at all. ...If you know what I mean.

The Pros and Cons (for those of you who like to skim through)

The Cast. That Hay-sus kid is fine as hell. I'm I right, ladies?!
The Choreography. When you hear this song on the radio the last thing you think of is some hard hitting dance steps. But LaurieAnn Gibson does it again giving us some punchy moves that ride the beat at just the right moments. And a lot of it at that. Boomkak for your life!
The Visuals: All subtext aside, GaGa never cuts any corners when it comes to making her videos visually stunning. From the haute couture costumes to the great scene locations to the legions of dancers and extras; the bitch goes all out.

Disses

Wtf time was it anyway? With the lyrics that hinted towards biblical times, the biker gang motif, and the Elizabethan era inspired costumes I was utterly confused as to what the setting was supposed to be. Good thing it was video and not an English paper...
The Mediocre Track: Sorry, even though the song gets slightly more tolerable each time I hear it, I just can't call myself a fan. So far her Born This Way era fails to impress me; it kind of reeks of a stale disco. :x

Seen and Heard: Show Stoppers at the New York International Auto Show

About two weekends ago I had the pleasure of attending the annual NY International Auto Show held at the Jacob Javitz Center way out on the West Side. After trooping the three longest blocks in Manhattan from the nearest train station we were greeted to short entry lines, collective oo's and ah's and miles of automobile eye candy. While some of the cars were off limits the majority of the show was photo-op central. I'm not going to lie, I was a little hesitant to attend since while I can appreciate a good looking car, I wouldn't call myself an avid fan. But I quickly found myself losing track of the time being consistently distracted by a completely mirrored car here, or a sick concept car there. Below are some snapshots of the standouts of the event as photographed by this guy that I sleep with. XD Check out the sleek Lexus concept LFGH which has no side view mirrors or door handles!

10 Points for Girl Power: Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha join B. Spears for a Smash Remix

So my Tumblr dashboard was in a tizzy last week over the release of Till the World Ends (Remix) featuring Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha. And for good reason; any pop fan would have to agree, the song goes hard.

The stand out here is definitely the ultra-slick dubstep beat that offers such a good compliment to the track that you start to wonder why this wasn't the original version. And I'll throw Nicki a bone, her line "And I ain't talking poultry when I say that chick is fried" at :23 got a chuckle out of me; that hoe is silly as hell.

While Ke-dollar sign-ha's funky rendition of the chorus was cute, I would of love to hear an actual addition to the track by her. The breakdown leading to the bridge at 3:40 was just begging for some Sleazy-esque fast talking like only she can do best.

Other than that the track speaks for itself. It has a groove that's undeniable and if you're anything like me you'll have it on repeat before you know it.

The woman who brought you "boom-kak!" and brings dance rookies to tears, LaurieAnn Gibson, recently dropped by Bitchie Life for an exclusive interview and photo shoot. In it she discusses everything from her old projects to her new projects to how hard the grind can really get.

Although a little all over the place, Gibson gives me life going into the details of running the business that is her life. Raw and real, Lady Gaga's choreographer-in-chief closes the interview giving some some sage advice to bright-eyed, show biz newbies:

...even if you have overnight success like some of my groups [like Danity Kane], you get thrown into a business that’s about profit and then people attach themselves to your gift and they put you on the hype train. They gas your ego up. You drink the Kool-aid, you will choke. Don’t be so quick to want to make it overnight or want to be in that place of worldly status because there is always a glitch in the matrix and you have to be built to be number one or you’ll slip. Danity Kane got to number one and they didn’t spend enough time being humble or doing the work so when they got in the ring, and they got beat. Now they have to start all over again. Overnight success and short cuts draw blood. There are no short cuts because even when you think you’ve made it or the world says you’ve made it, there is still more work to do. Making it, is getting up every day and fighting to remain humble, grateful and to find a bigger purpose or another level to why you are who you are. It’s not over until He calls you home and that’s when you’ve made it.

And So Yeah, That Happened: Rutgersfest Is No More

You just can't give some people free shit, I tell you.

Rutgersfest, NJ's Rutgers University's annual music festival has officially been canceled indefinitely. After a more rowdy than normal event this year Richard McCormick, president of Rutgers University, sent out a school-wide email earlier today disclosing that the event had to come to an end because it has become far too dangerous.

"The safety of our university community, and that of our neighbors, is paramount, and we cannot risk further danger or the possible loss of life. The problems that occur following Rutgersfest have grown beyond our capacity to manage them, and the only responsible course of action is to cancel the event," McCormick wrote.

Well damn. Sad faces all around. As someone who grew up right around the corner from Rutgers' main campus in New Brunswick, NJ and has had dozens of friends attend the school, this is some of the worst news I've heard all day. Rutgersfest, which attracts about 40,000+ attendants yearly, is something just about everyone in the community looks forward to every year. The headliners are always quality acts (previous performers include The Roots, NERD, Motion City Soundtrack), the timing is great (the festival is always towards the end of the school year), and it is completely free to attend. Free!

But herein lies the problem. As disappointed as I was to hear the news I can't say I was surprised; every year Rutgersfest plays with fire. The whole thing is a recipe for disaster. Not only is the event free but anyone can attend. The concert attracts people from all over and all walks of life; college students, alumni, guests, even high school students. And those who have experienced Rutgersfest know that the entire day is treated as an all day, opt-in riot. Drinking starts at 9 AM, jello shots are considered breakfast, and the night is not over unless you've gotten caught up in a fight and have fallen asleep fully clothed on a stranger's couch. It's the stuff that college dreams are made of.

With the day becoming increasingly violent as the years have passed, Rutgersfest was due for a cancellation. But I also have no doubt that it will be back eventually. Colleges around the country have annual concerts all the time; it's not the concert that's the problem. It's the uncontrollable crowds that roam the streets afterwards. Rutgers University's Public Safety team and New Brunswick's Police Department need to take a crash course in crowd control because it's their lax enforcement that allows the problems to arise to begin with. To be perfectly honest, a regular Friday night on the streets of New Brunswick are alarmingly rowdy as it is. Add tens of thousands of additional people to the mix and there are going to be some problems. So until the aforementioned teams can step their game up there will always be the danger of groups of kids eager to let out some steam and start some trouble.

The Unpopular Opinion: Why Brit Brit's Feature on S&M (da remix) Was Not a Complete Flop

Ok, show of hands, who was pretty excited about the S&M Remix featuring our girl Britney Spears? Now how many of you were as excited after hearing it? Ok... a lot fewer of you. And I feel you on that. But hear me out...

Overlooking Rihanna's annoyingly sharp and repetitive opening of how much she "likes it, likes it", the remix does not differ from the original for the first half of the song. Rihanna gives off the impression that she can hold a note by moaning her way through the first 2 minutes and some change before handing it off to Britney. And it's all downhill from there.

But here's where I have I have to give my 2 cents. Firstly, why did we (the public that was excited for the union) hype the track up like it was going to be the duet of the century? As much of a fan as I am of both of them, we all know that they're both mediocre singers at best. Rihanna, specifically, has a tone that consistently treads dangerously close to being off key. (Did we already forget the annoyance they called "Unfaithful"?) So what do you get when you add a semi-decent singer, that would be Britney, on a sub-par singer's track? Even worse singing. Top it off with layers of unnecessary auto-tune most likely used to mimic Rihanna's pitchy vocal flips and you have a hot mess.

IMHO, the S&M remix was created purely to garner some hype for Rihanna while dissing Britney's musical prowess. Asking Brit Brit to feature on the song was media sabotage. I mean they are competition to each other after all. Call me a conspiracy theorist but at the end of the day it is Rihanna's song so her camp has the last say on how it sounds. And if you can make Ms Fenty sound like she's a power vocalist, there's some real fuckery going on. Period.

On the Radar: The Flip Video Faces Extinction

It's every shopper's second most dreaded word in the world of commerce (the first being "back-ordered", duh), discontinued. Cisco's cool little device, the Flip Video, is set to be discontinued after just two years on the market. The slim and user friendly device that boasts specs such as HD 720p resolution capabilities and 8 GB of memory, just wasn't meeting Cisco's bottom line; the Flip has only sold approximately 2 million units since it's release.

With a flip out USB interface for fool proof uploading as its gimmick, it's understandable how the Flip Video flew on past the prototype phase. But the audience just isn't there. Think about it, who's really videotaping shit that often who isn't into the webcam thing or, you know, already owns a real camcorder? Not to mention, while super cute, there just isn't anymore room for yet another device that does something that's already being covered by another gadget you own. In a world where smartphones do just about everything short of filling in your chipped manicure, devices that only do one thing are almost laughable and nearly always disposable. Plus, between my Blackberry, Nook e-Reader, Itouch, and Lumix camera, my faux-leather studded carry-all is no longer accepting entries for the stuff you will most likely not use today yet will carry anyway position. No mas, papi, no mas.

IMHO, deading the Flip was a smart move for Cisco which is better known for their superior networking services (high tech routers and video conferencing, anyone?) Anyway, if you can make room for another gadget you'll eventually have to troubleshoot (technology, man) expect some discounts on the Flip Video as retailers try to get rid of the stragglers hiding in the back stock room. Consider this your heads up. And you're welcome. ;)

Out of This World: Katy Perry is Not On Our Level

Or at least that's what she wants us to think. In her new video for her latest single E.T. featuring Kanye West, our favorite sorority girl takes her lyrics very seriously taking us on a 5 minute journey in outer space.

I mean... I guess.

I didn't at all mind the intro with Yeezy floating about in a futuristic space ball or even the first minute of Katy writhing in mid-air. They paid a lot for the art direction in the video so dammit, they're going to show you some meaningless imagery! I did mind the fact that Katy continued to bounce around from planet to planet for more than half the video. Halfway through the second verse it was like, oh so they're just going to wait until the bridge before something pops off, huh? Oh ok. -_-

Finally, Katy arrives at what seems to be the Land that Radio Shack Forgot, resurrects the MTV Moonman, throws on some sponsored stunna shades, and walks off into the sunset.

Personally, as a fan of the song, the video left me feeling like I sat through a whole bunch of nothing for the most part. Whatever Katy was selling just then, I'm not buying.

Plus, it's all too clear that Perry's team was ~~biting off of~~ heavily inspired by Lady Godga's Born This Way video; except hers was successfully much more disturbing and actually had a point. Katy seemed awkward and out of place in what was supposed to be an eerie video. She would've been much better suited playing a sexy, ethereal being seeking some human loving.

Eh. I give this video 2 (out of 5) Katy-cats.

While it's no longer new, the Black Eyed Peas video for their latest single "Just Can't Get Enough" ranks high on my Obsessions of the Moment list. Shot in Japan just days before the disaster, the video takes us on a flashy trip that showcases the bright lights of Japan nightlife.

It all starts with a jarringly, melancholy chorus sung by who else but the BEP's resident hook dropper, Fergie,
who muses out of the floor-to-ceiling windows of a luxury hotel. Cut to Will.I.Am musing out of the window of a taxi cab on it way to, well that's never quite determined. But he's rich so it must be important, right? Anyway, later we're treated to cut scenes of intimate performances, glamor shots of Fergie, and, well that's it really. Oh and the other guy from BEP does some aimless wandering as well.

While not action packed, I'm not going to lie, the video is memorizing. With the intentional, slightly shaky camera work, soft focus, and renegade style of film shooting that we've all come to love ('cause it's so #fresh & #edgy) it's beyond easy to mentally escape to a world filled with sensational nights of having nothing in particular to do documented by one of your "photographer" best friends who is just bursting the the need to capture every moment of your young and carefree lives.

That, and you know, the song is just so pretty.

Ciao, bellas! Sorry I've been so MIA but Tumblr has been getting all my love lately. I can't help it, I'm a whore for pretty pictures. XD

Let's go over what's been happening in the world, shall we?

Boutiques.com made it's debut this week and even though it's in its beta stages, it's pretty damn good. It's like your bookmark lists meets Pandora except on crack. You can search for and browse the looks you love and save them eventually creating your own "boutique". Google, the creators of the site, take it one step further by suggesting things you might be into based on a survey you take during the registration process. And by suggesting, I mean inundating you with pages and pages of shit you probably would not have ever stumbled upon on your own. It's pretty cool.

And like anything fashion and online related, the fashion blogger are all over this one. If it tickles your fancy you can follow the likes of Jane from Sea of Shoes (::yawn::) or Karla of Karla's Closet (weird but not boring at least) and a few others. Or if you'd rather follow someone with actual clout, there are celebrity, brand, and retail endorsed boutiques as well. Google is all about the options, you know.

The American Music Awards, aka the bronze medalist of relevant music awards, was this week as well. I couldn't tell you a thing about who won, but I can tell you a lot about who showed up looking great:

Lady Gaga and her awesomely weird self won the Pop/Rock Female Artist Award while The Black Eyed Peas won the Duo or Group division by default. (Because there are other Pop groups out right now...?) Glee continues to dominate the world by winning the Soundtrack of the Year Award while our favorite pre-teen, Justin Beiber sweeps the ceremony by winning four awards including Artist of the Year. ...Um, Imma leave that one alone. In ~~Black people~~ Urban news, two highly anticipated albums finally debuted this week: Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy & Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday. In true Kanye fashion, from what I've heard, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy takes the listener on a journey of epic proportions all while telling you exactly how epic it is. And as much as you just want to roll your eyes, you find yourself bopping your head instead.

In the Oooh girl you are so creative! division, Nicki Minaj hoots and hollers her way through 13 tracks which to be frank is 13 too many. Sorry. I happened to catch her on 106 & Park where she performed to a crowed of Yaki sponsored pink wigs & male chicken head enthusiasts. She also interview for like 30 whole mins (again, 30 too many) ::yawn::. More notably she wore some bad ass tights:

I caught this video on E! the other day and have since been mildly obsessed with it.

When they aired it there was no introduction thus I was utterly lost. Was that a movie trailer? A music video? A really long commercial? After a little digging on the Internets I'm pretty certain that it is the official music video for the featured song, "The Big Bang" by Rock Mafia.

Digging the tune, double digging the cinematography. See, Kanye? A music video can be intriguing with out being THIRTY FUCKING MINUTES LONG.

I'M GOING TO DO IT Y'ALL.

I'm going to finally write a new blog post. And no Facebook, nap, or Keeping Up with the Kardashians marathon is going to stop me this time!!

So, is it just me or has there been a lot of epically weird people making the news recently? And not like weird like your off beat cousin Joey weird, but weird like the kind of people who evoke a sorry-I-don't-have-any-change-and-no-sir-I-do-not-have-the-time response weird.

Exhibit A. Jennifer Mee, the girl who became famous by hiccuping for like 5 months straight, just extended her 15 minutes of fame by killing someone. True story. I mean, if that doesn't deserve an award for Excellence in Completely Random Shit, idk what does. I was intrigued by this story because you would think someone with such an adorably fake chronic condition such as long term hiccups would be a precious Midwesterner with pigtails. On the contrary, Mee was a frequent runaway growing up who had many run ins with the law AND IS NOW A MURDERER. Huh. And apparently she has Tourettes which I think is completely irrelavant to the case as I always thought that Tourettes cause random verbal outbursts, not random 1st degree murders. But idk, I was only a Marketing major in college.

Exhibt B. Jimmy McMillan. Oh Jimmy. Jimmy, Jimmy. This guy is running for Governor of NY and he has one cause and one cause only. Lowering the rent for the citizens of NYC. No seriously, the rent is too damn high. That is the name of his party. And his website. And all things from hence forth regarding him. Why? BECAUSE THE RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH. Ya'll don't even know. Everything that has ever plagued humanity stems from the fact that the rent is too damn high.

Chic Prints for Nails by OPI for Sephora

So I've been obsessed with Minx, the film that's professionally applied to nails using heat, ever since I heard it was the hot thing on the streets and everyone knows I'm 10x as trendy as hipsters were 3 years ago. Word. But I've never gotten them because it costs like $60 a session and that can buy a whole lot of gummy bears and Lucky Mags which are much more pertinent to my lifestyle. SO when I stumbled across Chic Prints for Nails by OPI for Sephora (also see: longest product name ever. -1 point) I was as giddy as a Staten Island chick on Canal St ("Juicy Couture" bags for how much??)

I chose the "anchor" design because there's something so chic about nautical stripes and, hello!, there are tiny silver anchors on them. The necessary supplies start and end with just a glass nail file but I broke out my favorite black nail polish for my eight small toes while I applied the print to my two big kahunas.

The directions state to "rub the strips vigorously with your finger to heat and then peel" which is cool but how long do I rub this thing? And how hot is hot enough? And am I the only one who giggles at the word "vigorously"? I figured it was safe to stop once my index started burning. I mean, I've heard fashion is pain but sheesh. They peeled very easily and stuck well enough to stay put if you wanted them to but you could also easily peel them off to re-apply them better. After rubbing out the air bubbles, directions state to bend the excess of the strip down and then file it off in a downward motion. That, my friends, is an acquired technique. My first few nails were so jagged I had to break out the nail file. For best results, pull the strip taught first as they do stretch a little.

Almost halfway through. Too eager to finish applying the pinky nail.

When I was all done I was very satisfied. I thought they looked adorb. That was, until, I saw them under natural light. They look like straight up stickers, y'all. Like my little sister went pretend manicure happy on me. Under direct sunlight they look way shiny and plastic-like. Sephora/OPI/those child day laborers would have made a much better choice if the prints had more of a matte finish. For me, that would've made the real difference between drug store nail art and a inexpensive true Minx substitute.

Over all, I give this product a B-. The reviews on Sephora's website are great so someone loves them and I would venture to say other patterns might show better. In other words the anchor print is a no go but I might be willing to try the lace pattern. Especially if it was free. Just saying. O___O #illuminati

Chances are if you're reading this you are broke. And I'm not trying to be mean (this time), I don't mean bag lady on the street poor. I mean recent grad with an entry level job making just enough to pay your half of the rent and get ~~smashed~~ dinner about twice a week broke. And if you think you're living in that situation and that you are, in fact, financial sound, then you're not sound in the head. Word.

Now that I have spiraled you that much further into your quarter life crisis funk, I'll get to the point. I like to hoard money. But ever since I joined the real world and started paying rent, my savings account has barely been showing signs of life. And I'm wondering what I'm sure a lot of other people are wondering: How do I save money when I don't make any to begin with? Well, I'm not financial adviser (I'm still not quite sure what a 401K REALLY is and IRAs always remind me of the NRA which are completely different subjects but would be kind of cool if they weren't) but I know what works for me. And everyone knowssss my opinion is gold. You're welcome. And so I present: Ways to Save Money When You Don't Actually Make Any.

Ahem.

1. Change counts!: I cannot tell a lie, I was fronting on change for a while. Its cumbersome, loud, and makes you feel like an 80 year old when you try to use it at the grocery check out. But, and this is no news to some, it does add up. If you're not a fan of physical change, sign up for one of those "Keep the Change" programs at your bank. I saved about $50.00 in 3 months and I didn't even know I was enrolled. Sneaky bastards. If you don't mind a pocket full of coins go old school and get a piggy bank. Break new bills instead of using change and empty your pockets every night. Always get your change from the cashier even if it is only a nickle. Save for months and don't dip in if you can help it. Don't let your boyfriend think it's okay to just take a dollar in quarters to get a bagel because, hello, that's real money, my real money, and that's like almost like stealing and he will break that really cute candy dispenser you got from Dylan's Candy Bar and cleverly used as a piggy bank. What? O_O

2. Take turns not loans: This one technically won't make your account fatter (aw) but it will make you happier financially. I don't borrow money (my pride, ouch) and I don't loan money ('cause people ain't shit, no thanks) and you shouldn't either. Let's face it, no one likes to owe money. And, no offense to your homies, but if they're broke today they're going to be broke tomorrow. And the next day. The day after that? Still broke. Usually by the time you get your money back you no longer needed it. Additionally, it's not as if you were charging interest so that $40 is almost worth less to you now. What my friends and I do instead, is take turns paying for things. For example, if I'm running low on funds this week my friend might get my meal but next week I got her for the cover charge at a nightclub. It's like a symbiotic relationship of sorts. #geek. It also attaches more value to the transaction because both people benefit. The club is much more fun when everyone can get in. Even the broke bitches.

3. Stop being extra. The economy provides us with way too many options. Srsly. For a nominal fee, always "nominal", you can get some shit you don't need but sounds pretty impressive. Do you really need a 3 year extended warranty on a camera you'll probably upgrade in 18 months? Do you really need the Top 1500 Premium channels when you catch all your faves on Hulu? Do you really need to supersize that meal?? Probably not ya fat ass. But seriously, evaluate what you have vs what you need. I tracked my cell phone data usage for three months and noticed I was consistently using less than 2 MB. I changed my plan from "Unlimited" to "Data Plus" (I think) an now pay around $70 versus my usual $118. Yeah, they were raping me, yo.

4. Snag those rewards. I always used to associate rewards points with coupons in my head. Like yeah, theoretically I can save money but I have to do extra work, right? Yeah, no thanks. But just today while in Subway a poster for their rewards program caught my eye. After you earn a certain amount of points (a low amount at that) you can get a free sandwich. A whole sandwich! And I started to think, you mean I can earn free shit for doing the shit I already do? Genius. It just all makes sense. I go to places like Duane Reade so much they should start paying me. And essentially, that's what rewards programs do. Get you a piece.

Again, I'm no expert but I am a genius. And if my lazy ass can get up and start saving, so can you. :)

Guess where I'm writing to you from? ?? Oh alright, I'll tell you. I'm writing this from home! My apartment! My tiny, Ikea furnished bedroom! I have internet! ::shakes booty:: So I took a quick break from performing illegal activities to write a post. 'Cause I care about y'all.

But really, this is the post before the post (Jersey Shore reference. Anyone? Anyone?) because I really want to write about the awesome time I had in VA but I honestly can't remember all of it. It was that kind of weekend. SO, take this instead. :)

So I don’t know if you’ve heard but NYC has been taken over by bedbugs. True story. It’s like the number one searched term every other day. People are freaking out, ya’ll. Like Justin Beiber canceled one of his performances or something.

But I’m not understanding how this is really happening. Like yes, I know, theoretically all one has to do is accidentally bring one of those suckers home. One sketchy one night stand and you unknowingly tote one home via your hair or favorite J Crew sweater. But then what? Let’s conveniently assume that that resilient little critter makes it to your bed. Then it feasts on you every other night until it dies of old age or you accidentally squash it in your sleep. Infestation fail.

Or maybe you unknowingly bring two home. This I find harder to believe as I freak out if a random strand of hair brushes against me. How someone can have two bedbugs hitch a ride home with them and never notice is beyond me. But even if you do bring two home what are the chances that one is female and the other is male. Seriously, what are the chances? And that they actually like each other and mate?

Another possibility is that you accidentally bring home one pregnant bedbug. And in that case you should just kill yourself because you are incredibly unlucky and would prob face your untimely demise via a freak accident anyway.

But as inconceivable as it seems, to me at least, the bugs are spreading like a curable, but not any less gross, STD in a value driven teen primetime drama. So much so that the government is setting aside money to eradicate the problem. Now, if the government is giving out money instead of figuring out another way to take it, you KNOW some shit is going down. Basically, the world is about to end. Bedbugs could like totally be the locusts of our time. Hold on to your first born sons, folks.

Srsly. I feel like cool shit is happening and I'm just out of the loop. What. The. Hell. Did you know there is going to be a Piperlime pop up shop? 'Cause I didn't. And I frigging love that website. Check my archives list. I've only posted twice in the whole month of August. Twice. And not one of you has inquired as to why. No, "zomg, what happened to you?" or "wth, are you alive?". Where is the support, ya'll?

See the thing is, I'm poor. Not poor like homeless, wait in line at the soup kitchen poor. But poor like I live in NYC where you can never make enough money and thus I constantly have to make decisions like groceries for a week or dinner at my favorite restaurant? Paying that parking ticket or getting a mani pedi? Getting internet access for the crib or getting a gym membership for my ass? If you chose choice B for all these, you would be me. I mean have you seen my ass??

Long story short, I don't have internet at the homefront which is conveniently where I find all my inspiration. ::sarcasm:: I do, however, have a ton of drafted blog posts saved to my laptop that I will one day post (at work. shhhhhh!) when I finally decide to buy a new flash drive rather than the latest issue of Nylon and a bag of gummy bears. When exactly that will be, I have no idea. 'Cause I fucking love gummy bears.

In the meantime, I have a plan. I want my blog to be super fucking successful. Like the Hannah Montana marketing department. I want to have bitches on my dick like Obama. Here in the NYC there are lots of little campaigns to convince us to do shit we wouldn't always be game to do. They usually involve kitchy slogans or novelty items. Like, oh hey, safe sex is awesome take these free condoms! And... well wait, I can't think of any other examples before getting into what this post is about so fuck it, I'm going in.

In terms of terrorists and subsequently terrorist attacks, the gov likes to tell us to be alert! I mean don't freak out but, be alert! And they do so by using the slogan "If see something, say something". As in, if you see something suspicious, like an unattended package, you better tell someone before Time Square gets blown the fuck up.

My friends and I like to think that slogan applies to life in general. For example if you see a homeless guy rolling down Broadway in an office chair (last week), or homeless couple with enough recyclables to fill up an entire car on the 3 train (last weekend), or anything else that kinda sad yet kinda awesomely funny. You should let someone know. 'Cause sharing is caring, folks.

For as long as I can remember, I've always randomly gotten really bad sore throats. Neck sensitivity is a Taurus thing. Like stubbornness, and being loyal, and being all around awesome. Seriously, look it up. One of my earliest memories is of me crying my eyes out in pain further inflaming my throat and my father yelling at my mother because, WHY CAN'T YOU DO ANYTHING? STOP THE CRYING! ...Ah, childhood.

Sore throats, for me, also mean a cold is a'coming. But if I OD on Vitamin C I can usually skip the worst of it.

So when I got an epically bad sore throat last week it was less omg I'm dying! and more fuck this fucking shit again? At some point it just became like cramps. You know they're coming so strap in and man the fuck up. I did, however, inform the boyfriend because sore throats are kinda contagious and he might actually care about his well being. So it's beyond me how he was shocked when he started getting sick yesterday.

Me: You're depressing me. What's wrong?

Him: My throat is killing me.

Me: Oh you must have got it from me. Mine just stopped hurting.

Him: YOU HAD A SORE THROAT?!*

Me: Yeah, I totally warned you about it.

Him. Oh. I forgot.

And so, as is customary when a guy gets sick, the world started coming to end. All of a sudden his neck was stiff, his stomach hurt, he no longer had a reason for living, etc. While I was musing on how this was about to be the longest, most intense case of the common cold in history, he sent me this gem of a BBM. (That's a Blackberry Messenger message those who are not "with it".)

"I just found out I have STREP"

...

And he wrote it just like that, y'all. "Strep" in all caps like he just dropped a crazy bomb on me. My thought process? Who THE FUCK gave you strep throat? 'Cause it wasn't from me. I've had strep before and this is not it. Word.

I find out that his friends convinced him that he had strep so I went to the internets to prove him otherwise. First stop, WebMD.

Big fucking mistake.

I should have known. Everyone says WebMD is full of shit only hypochondriacs want to hear. I even just read a hilarious post about it here. But I was all, I'm smart there's no way I can get hysterical over a silly website. Oh yes, sweet baby Jesus, there is SO a way.

So I'm plugging in the first symptom "sore throat" and guess what the first result was? Throat cancer. Way to be fucking morbid WebMD. I mean wth! After my minor freak out I kept plugging in the symptoms and sure enough the common cold ~~finally~~ came up as the first result. So I was all, UH, WHAT, FUCK YEAH! RIGHT AGAIN. Like I just won a mini-game in Mario Party 7. I'm a real trip sometimes.

Out of curiosity I scrolled down and looked up the other results. ~~And yeah, so what, strep throat was one of them.~~ But also it had some crazy shit that I've never heard of that, oh hi, results in death. Death! I can't WebMD, I can't do this with you. Freaking out here. WebMD JUST KILLED MY BOYFRIEND.

It's such a shame. He was kinda cute, too...

Moral of the story? If you feel sick, go see someone with a degree. They'll prob just give you a band-aid and prescription for generic penicillin but at least you won't give yourself a heart attack.

I've noticed that random ass titles like that get the most views and comments. Ya'll got some serious ADD.

Yesterday I almost got hit by a car. Seriously. The front bumper of a souped up Acura and my legs got real close. Super tight. Like we went back to the 1st grade or something. I was crossing my street (because, hello, accidents only happen super close to your house. This is the universe's way of embarrassing the shit out of you.) while I had the light when the Batmobile wanna-be whipped around trying to make a left turn. I stood there and gave the driver my fiercest I am a pedestrian you must yield to me (!) look. And then, AND THEN, this douchebag lurches forward and stops short as if to threaten me! So I did what any conscious person would do; I banged on the driver's side window and gave him the finger while shouting all sorts of flowery explicatives.

I mean really? Hit me. Do it, I dare you. I will feign so many injuries you'll have to take out a second mortgage to pay me off. Back pain, neck pain, emotional distress. Also, my fetus. I could've been pregnant. I'm not, (::knocks feverishly on wood::) but I could've been!

In totally unrelated news, earlier today I was being nosy and browsing other people's monitors at work when I saw one of my co-workers looking at the NAACP website. ...Cool but, he was white. o_O Is it racist that I'm giving him the side eye for that? I mean, what could he possibly be looking for? Verifying how much he's not oppressed? Searching for scholarships he can't apply to? I am just very curious. I like to know where everyone's head is... at. I hate ending sentences with a preposition. But I'll lose my street cred if I don't. Feel me?

I'm usually turned off when some bloggers blog about how other blogs aren't interesting because, seriously, who died and made you pretty pretty princess of all things that are interesting and blog worthy? Certainly not me. And I know what's interesting. And it's definitely not a photo diary of how well you match Forever 21 with more Forever 21, or a detailed account of what you needlepointed last and are now peddling on Etsy, or pictures of you at a vegan restaurant wearing Ray Bans and telling me how flipping awesome your life is, so awesome in fact you have hours of time each day allotted to tell me just how awesome your life is. Certainly none of that.

But, BUT I don't point one finger at you with three pointed back to me because, who the fuck knows, maybe there are fashion challenged twenty-somethings, craft happy moms, and shower fearing hipsters who are living their lives vicariously through those blogs. Ya never know.

I'm sorry.

And I mean it. I haven't meant an apology since I switched buddies in the fourth grade during our trip to the Statue of Liberty (and zomg!) Ellis Island because my old buddy wasn't cool enough. That's how much you guys mean to me. You're welcome.

But I've been super busy. Like, busier than your mom on a good night. With what, you ask? Welllll I graduated college and started a new job. ...Which is totally more time consuming than it sounds. I couldn't tell you the last time I sat down and watched television. I've been missing Glee for crying out loud. And there was a Lady GaGa episode?? #cryingontheinside

This is also because my cable has been off since I don't pay the bills, my roommate does, and idk, maybe she's lazy but I couldn't complain because I was late with my half of the rent this month and my shower is leaking on the downstairs neighbor again which is legit not my fault but my roommate probably thinks it is since this happened for the second time in two months and wth showers shouldn't just leak like that but I haven't been doing anything but taking normal showers so by thinking I did it implies that you think I can break shower tiles simply by stepping on them which is just rude.

What else? Ummmm, I've been drinking a lot which sure does make time fly. And I may have, may have not been spending a lot of time indoors happily losing wrestling matches if you know what I mean (#wink) even though that's neither here nor there and omg, why are you so nosy?

And my attempts to improve my flexibility are so not the point right now. The point is I've been gone for awhile but I'm semi-back now and I have story.

So the other night after margaritas, quesadillas, and laughing at people (also know as the trifecta that is my life) we were on our way home when we were approached by a petite older lady bawling at level that would rival that of any true Miss America winner. Note, I don't do well with tears. Don't know how to handle 'em. Like what do you do them, really? They're about as useful as a handicapped parking space at a skating rink.

Anyway. She was on her way back home (in Westchester!) when her boyfriend kicked her out of the car after a petty argument and long night of drinking. Sads. But also, kind of hilarious. ...We offered to call her boyfriend to come pick her up but she didn't want to talk to him. We offered her money but she didn't want to take it. How do I get home from here? Was all she wanted to know.

We were steps from Union Square and explained all she had to do was take the express train uptown. But how far is it to walk? My friends and I exchanged incredulous stares and replied in unison, like 30 blocks!

That's fine. I need time to think.

And sure enough, my friends, that piggy went wee, wee, wee all the way uptown. O_O

Yesterday I asked my friend what she did she think happened to the lady. She never made it, was her legit, dead ass response. Roflmao.

This is weird. But I like it.

My mother, God bless her heart, is on some super devout Christian shit. Whoa, probably should not have cursed in that sentence, but hell, I don't look back! Anywho, for whatever reason she fasts for a month at the beginning of every year. I really couldn't tell you why. The necessity of doing so may be discussed in a chapter of the Bible I neglected to study (see: all of them) or a missed episode of the 700 Club. For the first week she doesn't eat at all and for the rest of the month she only consumes liquids like soup and, well, soup.

But enough about her. The kicker is, I'm doing it with her. Now you're probably all, "wtf, Tee? You're crazy! I mean you're not even religious like that!" And to that I reply "psht, you don't know me!" all angsty-like even though that may be slightly true. Thing is, my mom asked me to do it. And I grew up in a super strict home where you just can't say no to your parents. Even if they are requesting you do illegal activities. It's just not done, I tell you. And yes, I could lie considering we live in different states (albeit only NJ to NY) but I don't like to lie because I'm really good at it. It's just not fair. I think it may be since I'm half Irish on my Dad's side except that can't be true because I'm 100% not White and I was just trying to prove to you how amazing of a liar I am*. See?? So I'm doing it. But only doing it for a week and I have to tell you, it's not that bad.

Again with the crazy looks? Cut that shit out, I am serious!

Plus, it helped me learn things about myself. Like how I'm most likely to snack in the middle of the night, and that I'm overall pretty hard-fucking-core. Seriously. I threw back a Mike's Hard and a tall glass of Malibu on an empty stomach and frustratingly did not feel the slightest buzz. Girly drinks or not, I should have at least let out an inappropriate giggle or two.

And you, looking at me with the side eye, no one said I couldn't drink alcohol! Be gone with your judgments!

But yeah, the moral of my story is, I am hungry. Also, my pirated wireless internet connection has mysteriously disappeared. So if you don't hear from me for another week and half, do not despair. I'm fine. Just disconnected. :(

Anybody who knows me knows I fucking love New Year's Eve because I fucking love to party. And that night is the only night everyone is partying at the same time for the same reason. The energy in the air is amazing. But enough gushing about NYC.

My evening was... eventful. It involved an aborted search and rescue mission for one of my girls constantly on the search for more kicks; a tag team mission involving taking turns doing toilet duty, pulling back the hair of two girls who were having much more fun than the rest of us; eventually (and I would add inevitably) being kicked out of the club by a security guard and EMT because "by law" we can't occupy a bathroom stall for that long (??); being separated from the group because of it; not being able to get in contact with the group due to completely dead phones; dragging an acquaintance I made just 2 hours ago that night back to my Brooklyn apartment via the always pleasurable mass transit; attempting to sober her up while charging my phone enough to call out; picking up my car and driving back to the city to pick up the ~~stragglers~~ the rest of the group; driving to Jersey to drop them all off; taking a 45 min nap so I could make it back to my apartment in one piece; and losing some personal belongings and sensation in one of my toes. So not kidding about that last part.

In case you weren't clear on the fact that NYE was created for bad decisions, this was the only advertisement plastered on the mirrors in ladies' room

It was one of those nights that are so bad, you can't even really be mad because you're so glad it's over. I remember chatting about the epic-ness of it all over 24 hr Subway sandwiches at 5:00 AM and being highly amused. It was almost fun. Kind of like an adventure.

Here's where I'm supposed to reflect on the past, right? Well I was all gun ho to document how shitty the past year has been as on par with how the rest of the world apparently feels... but I can't. Eff a recession, my year was pretty pops. I turned 21 and madness ensued, moved out to NYC, went on the best vacation of my life (Meh-hi-co!), got my first film credit, took Italian and fell in love with Italy, started blogging and fell in love with the blog world, and lots more awesome shit. Sure a lot cool people passed away and I'm almost dead broke but I can't say this year was a complete bust. I mean, again, I turned 21!

Blogger never posts my posts in the order I want them to appear in. I've tried numerous techniques; drafting first and posting in different, various arrangements, positive thinking, etc. But this shit is about as agreeable as my stomach the morning after a night of contributing to the depletion of a handle of Svedka. Anywho, my point is this post should be on the top as it is the first in a series of holiday related posts. If it's not, blame Blogger. ...Or me. Everyone else does.

During this time of year, or the time that has just passed rather, all the blog posts are the same. Tales of our journeys home and how royally weird/fucked up our families are. But amongst people my age, I noticed another trend. Tales of how home doesn't feel like home anymore. When does that happen? When does the sparsely furnished, always void of food ~~tenement~~ apartment you're currently shacking up in until the lease expires becomes more comfortable than the room you grew up in? Maybe it's when you come back and see that slowly even more boxes of junk have crept into your old room. Or when you when you notice that Toys R Us isn't where it used to be, that they switched out all of the old exits signs with shiny new ones, or that you can no longer make a left where you used to always make a left. Or maybe it's when there is no longer a trace of old traditions and it's apparently no longer necessary to come home for every holiday and every birthday.

For whatever reason, I've always felt that I changed while everything stayed the same. But in reality, it looks like I changed and just stopped paying attention.

Have you ever just seen yourself in someone else? Not a relative or a friend; that's too easy. But a complete stranger?

Despite showing up a few minutes early to an open call, I was evidently late. The room was packed with eager hopefuls, potential oozing out the door. I had just found a coveted spot against the wall to fill out the routine contact sheet when I noticed her. Head down, in ill fitting clothes, she sat on a chair beside me. Her headshot was a bad studio portrait and her resume was sparse. She was scribbling a lengthy note in pencil on the back of the contact sheet; no doubt a bio or a promise of potential. Her nervous energy bounced all around her like electrons on an unstable atom, none of which able to escape its chaotic orbit. She would never look up to converse like the rest of us, exchanging "don't I know you from"s and "have you ever heard back from"s but I wished her luck nevertheless.

After her turn, she left in a hurry leaving a trail of disappointment in her wake. It was then I realized, she was me three years ago. Eager with a dream but no idea how to obtain it. Even more eager to be hard on herself. I wanted to tell her that the beginning is the hardest because you don't know how to deal. That 90% of the people in this town fake it until they make it. That success is only relative.

The crazy thing is, for my audition I was the most confident I had been yet. It was the first time I truly believed that if I didn't receive a call back it wasn't because I wasn't good enough. Times like these make me feel like life is one giant Libra-esque scale. One can only be happy if another, somewhere, is sad. Or confident when another is shy.

Sometimes I imagine if I see my old self in others then someone else, somewhere, is seeing their old self in me. I imagine she's gorgeous, confident, and accomplished with a sweet ass loft with great views and a covered parking space.

I mean, a girl can dream, right?

Not so much a Missed Connection as one of those oddly intimate encounters you have with a stranger.

My car had a flat. I did not panic but my heart did a little pirouette at the thought of finally putting my money to good use; I could now call AAA. I waited the obligatory 45 mins to an hour for help. As I gazed through my condensation filled windows at the blurry headlights and hurried pedestrians, I wondered why it always takes about an hour for everything. Help. Delivered pizzas. An unknown number tells me that help is a few blocks away in a silver pick up truck. My hero drives a Ford.

He told me he refused to change a tire in such a narrow street. His joke was lost on me as I replied "At least see if my tire just needs more air." I stood in the rain shortly answering his questions regarding my non-existent husband/boyfriend and why he could come change my tire. "You can sit in the car, you know. You don't have to stand out here with me." Slightly embarrassed, I slid into the drivers seat.

The car shuddered, rose, and fell as if it were tripping on some crazy hydrolics. I felt for my car and all the bullying it had to endure. He came to me to ask if I had the special piece for my tire. The special what? I stared at him blankly. Clueless girl is a role I hate to play, but I know less than nothing about cars. Amused yet not surprised by my lack of knowledge, he laughed and asked for the car's manual. He awkwardly bent over and ducked his head into my car to shield at least that bit of him from the dreary rain. I caught myself almost inviting him in but as I curled my numb toes I realized how awkwardly close we would be; he was a big man. "You can turn the car on if you're cold" he said breaking my train of thought exactly at the moment I realized I was freezing. The economist in me wouldn't let me do it, it would be a colossal waste of gas.

He perused the manual further then looked up at me.

"Stop looking so nervous." said he.

"I'm not nervous!" I snapped, snatching the fingernails I had been biting away from my mouth.

"See the piece that you're missing, I have. But I'm not supposed to use it, contract shit. The last time I did, I got in trouble." He laughs. "So it's up to you. I can do it or I'll have to call a tow truck to take you to a shop where they're supposed to do it."

"You... what?" I replied, hopelessly confused.

He sighed and patiently broke it down to me. I chimed in and shrugged off the things he mentioned that were obvious and that I knew already. He painstakingly explained things I would never get normally. Very in tune we strangers were.

"Well, I guess I'll wait for a tow truck then," I decided.

He gave me a look filled with frustration, bewilderment, and again, a hint of amusement. "But it'll cost the same thing," he countered.

"Yeah, but I might as well follow the rules."

Defeated, he shut my door and went back to work. I sat in confusion as to what would happen next, trying to catch bits of his push-to-talk conversations as the car continued to shake, rattle, and roll in response to the work being done.

"You're all done," he told me 20 mins later.

"Thanks," I mumbled as I wondered; did he just change my tire after I told him not to? As if he knew what was better for me and just did it??

After taking a few steps away from my car he came back to add "and don't forget to take off your emergency break." Something I've forgotten to do one too many times.

The situation was odd. Odd enough to dedicate a post to. I feel like... in another life we would've been together. And he would have been good for me. At least for a while.

When I first heard about MTV's The Jersey Shore, I had no intentions on doing a commentary. Because what is there really to say? Stereotypical or not, these people truly exist; it's only way this show can exist. And as a girl who grew up in New Jersey and now attends classes in Staten Island, the mecca of all things guido, I'm one of the few people who can attest to that.

For what it's worth, I watched the premiere and I was glued to the TV for the full two hours. Glued! Thoroughly entertained doesn't even begin to cover it. It was hilarious, ridiculous, and just plain fun. What's more entertaining than watching a bunch of kids enjoy their youth? That's what MTV was built on, after all. Not music. That was a marketing ploy.

Anyway.

This morning on the Hot 97's morning show (or maybe it was Power 105.1, they're like the same channel) Rosenburg (sp?) (also, see: token White boy) was all in his classic, I'm gonna sound like I agree with you but end with how I really feel, that you're wrong and let you ponder on that attitude, saying how he liked it but whined about how the show was offensive. "How is it offensive if it's true?" The rest of that random ass radio show cast asks. "Because it attributes negative connotations to a specific ethnic group. If it were any other group portrayed that poorly, it wouldn't be okay." Replies Rosenburg in not so many words.

Negative, my Jewish friend, negative. Those shows do exist and evidently are okay. In fact, they have their very own network. Ever hear of BET?

Programs that show all African-American families are comprised of a crackhead mother and equally screwed up children? Check. Programs that show an African-American girl's true dream is to be a rapper's baby mother? Check. Programs that show African-Americans only listen to hip-hop and R&B? Check. Programs that show that once African-Americans get a little money they either go totally bougy, "act white", or both? Check. **

People eat that shit up with no complaints. How come you're not mad about that??

Oh, hai. I usually can't stand updates because I think if you're gonna do something you should just do it and your actions will speak for themselves. But obviously it's okay if I do it.

But really, I feel like I have to explain the awkward state my blog is in. Please don't think I actually like it this way; it's under construction. This is completely attributed to the fact that this semester is kicking me in my oh, wait, I may actually have to do this assignment ass. And hard. I've gotten maybe five hours of sleep total this past week including the weekend because my shower picked this motherfucking week to leak on my downstairs neighbor's motherfucking closet which is kinda cool (for me obvi, not her) because now I have a brand new shower but it required workpeople to kick me out of my room at 9:00 in the morning on the only two days I have to sleep past 7, and I reallyyy needed to sleep past 7 last week. << Cranky.

So today I have a break (and by break I mean I have nothing due tomorrow but rather the day after allowing me to pretend for just one night that life is sweet and I have no obligations) and thought it was a prime time to let you dear readers back into my life. I totally attempted this 5 hours earlier, btw, but it ended up with me faceplanted to my craptop keyboard, contacts dryly adhered to my eyes, with no recollection of ever falling asleep.

But yes, onto the changes. It's nothing major but I changed my layout because too many people had my old one and everyone knows I'm an original and that will not do. There will be a fancy header up there one day, I swear. I also just added a Followers widget. Blogger says after adding it I should mention it in my blog as soon as possible but I like to think that the people who stumble across this are bright enough to notice it on their own. Yeah, that's right. When no one else has faith in you, I do. Remember that.

Learn from my mistakes. I make too many to keep them all to myself.

1. DON'T assume that the state isn't in a hurry to receive the payment on your parking ticket because there was no due date printed on it. There is a due date, you just have to go online to find out when it is.

2. DO get the extended warranty on a Polaroid flat screen TV. It starts to fuck up approx. 2 months after the regular warranty expires.

3. DON'T get a Polaroid flat screen TV if you can help it.

4. Flashdancers is a terrible strip club.

I'm not quite sure what to do with this thing.

When I first started this blog I had the brilliant idea that is was actually going to be about shit. Not just random "inspirational" photos jacked off of Flickr or musings that I think other people would want to read but more often wouldn't. But something of substance. Something I could actually link prospective future employers to as a sample of my writing skills.

But then I couldn't help myself from cursing so that went to the wayside.

So in case you haven't noticed, I've slowly but surely been sneaking in personal entries here and there.

But then! I was plagued with the notion that my personal entries had to be positive. This is ~~mostly~~ completely due to being a member of 20 Something Bloggers. Don't get me wrong, I've found some really good informational, fashionable, and LOL worthy blogs on there. But you have to weed through all the my life is so amazingly average shit first. I was flooded with so much I'm a 20-something-year-old just trying to navigate my way through life! positivity, I started to rethink my attitude.

But fuck it. Negativity and sarcasm is what I do best. It's, dare I say, part of my charm. Rofl.

I must note here that I do have a positive outlook on life, however. I believe in love. I believe you can achieve things through working hard. I believe that happiness is a choice.
